Shomyodaki Falls
The highest waterfall in Japan, the Shomyodaki Falls collect water from the Tateyama mountains and erode the Midagahara plateau to form a V shape before cas cading down 350 meters. The falls have four stages: the first 70 m, the second 58 m, the third 96 m and the last 126 m. The bottom of the waterfall is 60 m in diameter and 6 m in depth. The falls are especially overwhelming in the early summer, when they have the largest amount of water.

Hannoki Falls
The source of the falls is in the center of the Midagahara plateau and the falls appear only from April to July when the snow covering the plateau melts. The falls have another name, [Aunno-taki,] because they have an abundant water season and a dry season.
